This is a kit of a few everyday kitchen essentials that I have in my own kitchen and use quite literally all the time.
My intention in selecting these particular products is to provide you with sustainable, eco-friendly alternatives to appliances and tools you may already have in your kitchen. If you don’t already have them, think about getting them. Make your kitchen a bit safer and “greener”.
Clean Up Your Kitchen – The Safe & Sustainable Way
A FEW ECO-FRIENDLY KITCHEN ESSENTIALS EVERY KITCHEN SHOULD HAVE
A Conscious Alternative
Green Pan makes some of the most safe and eco-friendly cooking and frying pans on the market. Their pans are ceramic, non-stick and non-toxic. This means they’re made without PFOA. PFOA stands for Perfluorooctanoic Acid – a cancer causing chemical found in some household and kitchen objects (read more about it on this page).
Reversible End Grain Natural Maple Wood Chopping Block – Biodegradable, Made in the USA
By: John Boos
A Conscious Alternative
In my opinion, a solid, natural wood cutting board is one of the coolest and most helpful products you should have in your kitchen. They not only look awesome, but are an essential if you enjoying cooking and preparing food at home (which I do all the time). This one in particular is made of natural maple wood and is crafted in the USA.
EU Ecolabel Certified, Natural Plant-Based Grapefruit Multi-Surface Kitchen Cleaner Spray – 100% Vegan
By: Frosch
A Conscious Alternative
I’ve never been a fan of those conventional counter sprays after I learned what ingredients were in them. Many have VOCs (volatile organic compounds) and carcinogens. Also, unfortunately, the government doesn’t help to regulate these harmful chemicals out of cleaning products. This cleaning spray is EU Ecolabel Certified and 100% plant-based. Opt for this one and make your home a little “greener” and a little safer.
A Conscious Alternative
I’ve never been a big fan of plastic – especially in the kitchen. It’s a hard transition to make, removing or limiting plastic waste in your home, but it’s so important and is essential if you desire to lower your environmental footprint. These utensils are made from organic bamboo and include a few basic cooking tools. They’re also 100% biodegradable.
A Conscious Alternative
Composting is another practice I’ve gotten into the habit of. You’d be surprised how much organic, compostable waste you produce in your kitchen. Everything from food scraps to paper napkins can be composted, instead of tossed in the trash. If you’re in a city, you can find a local farmer’s market to give your compost to, or if you have a garden or lawn of your own, you can mix it in with your soil. This bin is my favorite.
A Conscious Alternative
Along with your compost bin, it’s easiest to use a bin liner. Instead of using PET-based bags, I found liners made form corn starch. These bags are biodegradable and provide an eco-friendly alternative to the conventional plastic liners.

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website. It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create your theme? Exceptional work!
Thank you! We worked hard on this design — we didn’t hire an outside developer, but did use a combination of plugins and custom CSS.
