An Interview with Augment Supply Co
(Makers of Simple T Shirts That Give Back to a Good Cause)
Augment Supply Co created by Zach Burau and Brandon Wortkotter. We sell apparel that has a simplistic sleek design that will help one feel and look good. Giving back to our community is a big deal to us, so that is why we donate a portion of our sales to St. Jude Children Research Hospital.
What inspired the creation of your company, and when did it start?
Brandon and I are entrepreneurs at heart and love business. We came up with the idea of starting an apparel company because we both have a sense of fashion. We have been brainstorming for Augment Supply Co. for a while now and our site went public last weekend.
What is your brand’s mission, and what causes drive you and your team?
We wanted to make people feel great not only by looking good but through helping others in need as well.
How is your brand socially responsible?
We donate a portion of our sales to medical research.
What does your brand do to lower its ecological impact and/or promote environmental health and well-being?
We donate a portion of our sales to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in hopes of improving cancer research.
Does your company perform animal testing and/or use animal-based ingredients in your products? Why or why not?
We do not use animal based ingredients in our apparel.
Where does your company make/manufacture your products, and why?
We get out products through a drop shipper in California.
Describe your design philosophy – how do you balance quality and affordability?
We sell products that are made in the U.S.A and are sweatshop free.
Tell us a little about the ingredients/materials you use. Generally, why did you pick them over other options?
The shirts that we currently sell are 100% fine jersey cotton and are best for printing.
What are the next steps for your company?
To grow our brand and apparel line. We would also like to explore different ways to give back to the community.
How do you view the future of conscious consumption?
I hope to see different companies focus on bettering the society and less on making a lot of money.
As a parting sentiment, if you could only use one word to describe your brand ethos – what would it be?
Augment
