Kit by: Jake Madoff

I got an email a bit ago asking about how one can incorporate plants into their home in a way that is a bit more fun than the conventional home gardens (which I do think are great, don’t get me wrong – we have one in our kitchen). But, it got me thinking. So I started poking around the interwebs and landed on terrariums.
Terrariums are a super easy and fun indoor plant ecosystem that work in just about any space. Below you’ll find a few of my favorite terrarium planters and the various gardening materials needed to complete your terrarium. I also found this helpful video (directly below) that walks you through the layers of a terrarium and how to make one after you have the necessary materials. Feel free to use #AgreeableCo if you make a terrarium from this kit, and we’ll share it on our social media 🙂
*Given the kind of kit this is, we didn’t do our usual rating schema.

Modern S Curve Design, Black Metal Display Stand with 2 Clear Glass Succulent Plant Terrarium Globes
By: My Gift
A Conscious Alternative
To start, I want to share a few cool terrarium cases I recently discovered on Amazon. Please note that although some of these terrariums show a plant, rocks and/or plant matter, you’re only getting the glass planter. You’ll find these other elements below.
This terrarium is one of the more whimsical ones in my kit. It comes with a black metal stand that makes it super easy to hang the glass globes. It’s perfect as a centerpiece, and can even be used as an elegant vessel for candles, adding a nice ‘floating light’ appearance.
A Conscious Alternative
I like this terrarium for a couple reasons. For one, it’s super well reviewed: it has a 4.5/5 star review — but, more than that, the design is both modern and classic. This terrarium resembles that of a work of art, crafted with a metal pyramid-shaped frame and clear glass panels. It’s perfect for a desk, coffee table, or any surface that could use a little green. Also, a cool feature, this terrarium has a hole at the top, giving you the option to hang it from the ceiling.
A Conscious Alternative
Once again, another terrarium that resembles a work of art. This is a rather unique shape – it resembles something of a geometric teardrop. This terrarium has an opening right in front to add your plants, moss, rocks and soil.
A Conscious Alternative
This is another elegant glass terrarium by My Gift. Similarly, it’s well-reviewed, receiving 4.5/5 stars on Amazon. If you’re starting to get the general theme here, that’s good. We try to pick products that are both aesthetically appealing, well-constructed, and positively reviewed by customers. Like the other terrarium, this design is slightly pyramidal, but has a slightly flatter base. If you’re looking for a slightly smaller, more minimalist terrarium, I recommend this one.
A Conscious Alternative
This is the first of two gardening kits for your terrarium. This one comes with all of the plant materials you’ll need to create a nice, ecological bed for your plant.
It comes with two kinds of moss (depending on the kind of look you want), potting soil, and a few natural elements to complete the bed of your terrarium.
A Conscious Alternative
This is the other gardening kit. This one is slightly different from the one above. It comes with 3 live miniature plants, sheet moss, terrarium potting soil, carbonized charcoal, river rocks, and a complete instructional manual for how to create your own living terrarium. In essence, this garden kit is different in that it comes with three plants and slightly larger rocks.
In my opinion, if you get this one, you’ll be good to go. You won’t need the gardening materials above or the plants below.
A Conscious Alternative
If you want to really dive into the world of terrariums, you can pair these plants with the first gardening kit (i.e., the one that doesn’t come with plants). These indoor plants should work for your terrarium – they’re ferns and herbs that require minimal attention, compared to other plants. You can also go with a succulent, if you prefer.
