Handmade, Organic Seaweed Facial Scrub with Sea Clay & Sea Salt – Fair Trade, Vegan, USA-Made
By: Earth Wise Skincare
A Conscious Alternative
This is one mighty good skin scrub! It’s made with a cocktail of natural ingredients: mineral-rich seaweed and sea clay, to help detox and nourish, and sea salt crystals to help exfoliate your skin. It’s also made with organic orange peel – the acidity and Vitamin C helps to clean your skin by extracting dirt. Overall, an awesome, conscious beauty skincare alternative.

Rosehip oil is a super oil! This ingredient (that’s right, it’s a single, pure ingredient) is a go-to for any conscious skincare routine. Ever since reading about the benefits of Rosehip oil, it hasn’t left the top of my dresser. Pour a bit into your hands, and rub onto areas that need hydration and healing. You can read about the skin benefits, here.
Safe (EWG Approved), All-Natural, Vegan, Fair Trade Moisturizing Body Botanical Oils
By: Qet Botanicals
A Conscious Alternative
Funny enough, I tried out this product after seeing it on Agreeable & Co. – Qet has won quite a few prominent natural beauty awards and has all the popular certifications. It lived up to the hype. It worked, and felt nice on my skin. I’ve now worked in this moisturizing body oil into my skincare routine.
A Conscious Alternative
I realized recently that it’s good to look for Shea Butter (an ingredient that’s everywhere recently) that’s ethically sourced or Fair Trade. Oftentimes, Shea Butter is sourced from Africa in ways that are not socially responsible (e.g., using laborers that are not paid fair wages). This one is sourced ethically from a women’s co-op in Ghana. It’s also raw, unrefined Shea Butter – not that processed stuff.

Hello! I’m a seasoned foodie here in NYC. I’ve been to just about all of the up-and-coming vegan bakeries and vegetarian restaurants around lower Manhattan. And, if I’m being honest, I have quite a sweet tooth and love to bake cookies and pastries in my free time! I’ve been a vegan for about a year now — and besides feeling healthier and more energized — it’s super fun to explore this whole new culinary world of vegan dessert and dinner recipes.
