This watch is handmade by a maker in London, United Kingdom. The watch face is made from eco friendly, bamboo wood, and the case is made from bamboo wood with a natural oil finish. The band is leather and given a wood grain texture to complete the look. We also like the minimalist, simple look and feel.

The artisans they’ve partnered with use natural, full-grain leather, which means this wallet will last for quite a while. In terms of our feelings on the design of this wallet: it’s solid. There’s enough compartments for cards and money — plus it has a minimalist look and feel that we tend to like

This is another Fair Trade piece. (It’s always important to support Fair Trade brands. We can’t say this enough.) This scarf is Fair Trade from Guatemala, made by artisans that use traditional Mayan techniques. According to the maker, “The natural dying technique has been revisited by this group, to both protect and preserve tradition and the environment.” Beautiful design. Sourced responsibly. Made sustainably.

Jimani is another incredible, ethical & socially responsible brand that practices fair trade standards. According to their site, “Every piece is handcrafted by women in Kenya. Through our partners, [we are] able to offer a unique training program to all women employed under Jimani Collections. Through this program, women are able to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to create jewelry, either with or outside of Jimani Collections.” This bracelet stood out to us for it’s simple, minimalist feel and traditional aesthetic.

“Are those real mechanical parts?” We’re so happy you asked. Yes, they are. This London based maker crafts jewelry from upcycled / recycled machine parts. Sophie Hutchinson, the maker, hand-crafts each piece by placing these scrap parts into a resin that hardens to produce a glass, dome-like look over the recycled pieces. It’s quite literally perfect if you’re planning on getting a gift for some one who likes that steam punk look.

We’re pretty big fans of the these tote bags from Cognitive Surplus. Each one is crafted with a cool design or message. Conscious consumers are known for their eco friendly tote bags, so we knew we had to include one in this kit. This one, though, is truly sustainable, as it’s made from recycled cotton textile. Also, plastic bags sucks. Had to throw that out there.

This is another piece by Jimani Collections. These earrings illustrate the beauty of Kenyan craftsmanship. They’re made with the collections signature handcrafted glass beads and cascading brass, hanging from long brass wires. If you’re thinking, “These must be really expensive because they’re beautiful and made ethically…they must be over $100.” Nope. They’re $28. Ethical fashion isn’t always expensive! Just saying.
